Thanks for being a neighbour!

Thanks for being a neighbour!

Lilydale Village celebrated Neighbour Day on Friday 25 March gifting a flower or herb seedling to our lovely shoppers in-centre!

What is Neighbour Day?

Neighbour Day started as a reminder to connect with elderly and vulnerable neighbours, and is now an annual celebration of respectful relationships and strong, resilient communities. Neighbour Day is Relationships Australia’s key social connection campaign. It aims to support and enable sustainable, respectful relationships and help address loneliness across the nation.

Social isolation and loneliness can affect anyone, at any time throughout their lives, and addressing loneliness across Australia is everybody’s business. Getting involved in Neighbour Day events and actions provides an opportunity to
shift the tide from social isolation to social connection, through building respectful relationships and connected communities.

Neighbour Day is brought to you by Relationships Australia, a national not for profit organisation that believes in the power of the Australian community to support its most vulnerable, to tackle loneliness, and to work together to ensure respectful relationships throughout the pandemic, and beyond. If you, or someone you know, is in need of crisis support, please call Lifeline 13 11 14.
